Last September 7, 2018, Sunnies Studios Creative Director Martine Cajucom and TV Host and producer Cliff Ho, tied the knot at Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia – the same place where they got engaged.

Truly, a lot of us were touched by the beautiful wedding ceremony as Filipinos love big celebrations and festivities. The couple arranged a pre-wedding welcome dinner with their guests dressed in pink. The actual wedding proper was held by a scenic view of the Indian ocean. Martine looked stunning as she walked down the aisle in her Rosa Clara bridal gown. But more than the wedding festivities, breathtaking view and elegant gown, what truly caught the audience’s hearts was the love and intimacy shown by the couple.

Martine and Cliff’s wedding reminds us of five Filipino celebrity weddings that not only stole our hearts but also made us dream of our happy ever after.

1. Iya Villana and Drew Arellano’s Wedding in Nasugbu, Batangas

The couple had been dating for nine years since May 2004. In February 2014, TV Hosts Iya Villana and Drew Arellano got married by the cliff at sunset in Kawayan Cove, Nasugbu, Batangas.

Beyond the breathtaking view and romantic setting, the familiarity between the couple made the wedding so genuine. They even chose to celebrate their love only with immediate family members and close friends.

When the couple exchanged their vows, Drew promised Iya, “My vow: to love and care for you even if I run out of words to say,” leaving the audience in tears.

Today the couple is married for four years with two adorable kids – Primo and Leon.

2. Saab Magalona and Jim Bacarro’s Wedding in Baguio

Daughter of the Master Rapper, actress and singer, Saab Magalona, and long time boyfriend, musician, Jim Bacarro married in January 2015 at the St. Ignatius Chapel, Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City.

Known for their bold and quirky taste, Saab and Jim chose to celebrate their wedding far from the traditional way. From the comic book inspired wedding invitations to a Star Wars reception entrance (they were welcomed by Jedi knights with lightsabers), the couple arranged a wedding celebration that reflected both their fun personalities.

Other than the aesthetics of their wedding celebration, what truly captured people’s emotions was the overwhelming chemistry between the couple shown through their vows. Jim mentioned how everyone spends so much time searching for the perfect girl, but to him there is only a perfect friend… a best friend and that is Saab.

The couple is now married for three loving years with a baby boy named Pancho.

3. Solenn Heusaff and Nico Bolzico’s Wedding in France

It Girl and actress, Solenn Heusaff and longtime boyfriend, Nico Bolzico got married at Eglise Notre Dame de Combourg in France in May 2016.

Known for their fun and witty personalities, their wedding left their guests laughing. At the same time it also made them shed tears as the couple exchanged heartfelt vows. Nico promised Solenn in his exact words: “forever will make sense”.

Although it seemed like a fairytale wedding, Solenn revealed the stress she went through before the actual celebration – a transport strike, a storm, unprocessed church documents and many more. But after all of it, the wedding ceremony went smoothly and was beyond perfect.

4. Anne Curtis and Erwan Heusaff’s Wedding in New Zealand

Actress, Anne Curtis, and entrepreneur, Erwan Heusaff, exchanged their vows in November 2017 in Queenstown, New Zealand. The couple held a private ceremony with family and their closest friends in a beautiful garden wedding.

We know Anne as one of the biggest stars in the showbiz industry, yet we see her without the usual celebrity glamour as she looked naturally beautiful in her Monique Lhuillier wedding gown.

In their vows, Erwan promised to be her most humble co-star but this time in the most genuine love story ever told. In return, Anne shared that their love story is her favorite book.

5. Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero’s Wedding in Balesin

Though their relationship sparked controversy because of age difference, it did not stop actress Heart Evangelista and senator Chiz Escudero from celebrating their love.

In February 2015, the couple celebrated their union in Balesin island with a lavish wedding ceremony.

Sweetheart Heart Evangelista was so breathtaking with her elegant wedding gown by Ezra Santos which was inspired by Grace Kelly, the Princess of Monaco.

The wedding featured a love story of second chances and first times. In his vows, Chiz thanked Heart for giving him another chance to be loved and told her that she will be his last.

These are just few of the many Filipino celebrity weddings that have warmed and will continue to warm up our hearts. As a community that loves to celebrate weddings, beyond the romantic venues, exquisite gowns, and out of this world receptions, there is just one thing that we truly celebrate — the beauty of two people becoming one.
