Living Unapologetically: Amanda Herrera, a Young Filipina Making Her Mark on the Global Scene

Restless—some might even say reckless—that’s how many describe Amanda. Bold, unfiltered, and unapologetically herself, she dives headfirst into life with a magnetic kind of chaos. A free-spirited adventurer, Amanda doesn’t just chase dreams—she grabs them by the collar.

What began as the story of a small-town girl from Manila quickly evolved into a tale of grit, hustle, and sharp instinct.

At 18, she was a struggling model. Soon after, she found her voice as a contributor for top publications, before eventually evolving into a sharp, no-nonsense talent agent.

Today, Amanda works with some of the world’s most prominent Hollywood stars and leading influencers. You might find her hosting wild parties in Palm Springs, sipping gin and juice at Snoop Dogg’s compound, or dining with billiards legend Efren “Bata” Reyes. But behind every bold move is a woman powered by relentless drive — and she’s only just getting started.

More Than Meets the Eye

Behind the glamour is someone who’s never been afraid of hard work. After seven years as a football player, Amanda spent her high school summers working part-time at gyms, managing cashiers and front desks. She later landed internships at start-ups and industry giants like McCann and Coca-Cola — all while studying at Ateneo de Manila University, where she graduated cum laude.

In between, she juggled modeling campaigns and bylines for lifestyle magazines. Today, she manages global partnerships at Gushcloud International, where she works with powerhouse brands like SONY — collaborating with Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard—and beauty giants like Amorepacific and L’Oréal.

“I love putting Asian excellence on the map,” she says. Amanda’s intensity may seem daunting to some, but it’s the fire behind her success. “I’ve been told to rest, that I might burn out, that I’m young and should enjoy life,” she admits. “And sure, it’s tempting… But I don’t like to take it easy on myself. Every day, I wake up determined to do better, and I don’t let others’ opinions define me. This is how I’m wired — I am nothing without this drive.”

Rebel with a Cause

Amanda lives by a clear philosophy: it’s easier to apologize than to ask for permission. She’d rather take the risk and fail than play it safe. That blend of daring optimism and laser-sharp focus has carried her through the highs — and the low points.

“I’ve hit some really low points,” she says. “At one point, I was sleeping on a mattress abroad. It was a complete 180 from my life in the Philippines. But honestly, those were the most defining moments. When you’re in survival mode — when you’re afraid the lights might go out — you just do the damn thing.”

Amanda draws inspiration from bold figures like entrepreneur Molly Bloom, whose story of resilience after a failed Olympic dream struck a chord with her. She’s also deeply influenced by Buddhist philosophy, particularly the idea that suffering gives life meaning. “Without pain, there’s no growth. And without struggle, you never really discover who you are.”

Rooted in Purpose, Driven by Impact

Amanda is in a season of rediscovery — evolving as both an entrepreneur and a creative.

“I never imagined I’d be doing what I’m doing now,” she says. “But I truly believe God gave me this purpose. And I’m incredibly grateful to have mentors and family who continue to see the best in me.”

What drives her is connection — learning from others, creating value, and contributing to something greater than herself. “I’m constantly striving to become a better person and leader,” she shares. “To lead with integrity, to create work that matters, and to live with intention. I want to build something that lasts.”

For Amanda, success isn’t about status or material gain — it’s measured by impact.  “It’s about how you make people feel and how you show up for them,” she says. “That’s the beauty of what I do: I get to nurture talent, champion creativity, and play a role in someone else’s growth.”

When the pressure builds and doubts creep in, she grounds herself in that purpose. “I might never become Michael Ovitz,” she says with a smile, “but I know I have the power to make an impact. And I live by that.”

Finding Her Wings

At just 24, Amanda has already carved out a bold and unconventional path — but she’s not slowing down.

“I’m not the type to get comfortable,” she says. That hunger for growth — that refusal to plateau — keeps her reaching higher, in every area of her life.

So, what’s next? Amanda is returning to her creative roots. “I really want to lean more into fashion and tap back into my creative side,” she shares. “I’m actually working on a collection right now — and I’m so excited for it to finally come to life.”

It’s a new chapter — one that fuses artistry with ambition. The road ahead may be uncertain, but Amanda is undeterred. If anything, she’s more sure of herself than ever. The fire hasn’t faded — it’s burning brighter than ever.
