Dine-In Restaurants and Fast Food Chains Can Officially Operate Under MGCQ

You read that right! Residents living in areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) can officially go out to sit down and enjoy their meal inside a restaurant or their favorite fast food chain. Diners, bistros, cafés, and fast food establishments can now operate at 50% capacity and as long as they comply with the minimum health standards prepared by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and approved by Inter-Agency Task Force against Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

To avoid physical contact, distance-friendly order-taking and cashless payments are encouraged, or restaurants can provide small trays for accepting cash. Operating at 50% capacity also means no buffets, play areas, and self-service areas for food bars, condiments, and utensils. Except for Metro Manila, along with Regions II, III, and IV-A; Pangasinan and Albay; and the cities of Davao, Baguio, and Iloilo, the rest of the country is under modified general community quarantine. Areas classified as GCQ can only cater to take-out and delivery services.
