Conrad Manila launches the 38th edition of its Of Art and Wine series with Return & Remember: Places & Home, a new solo exhibition by Filipino-Canadian visual artist J.A. Tan, curated by Nestor Jardin. The show runs from November 19, 2025 to January 17, 2026 at the hotel’s Gallery C.
Featuring 36 new paintings, the exhibition examines memory, identity, and the emotional landscapes that influence one’s sense of home. Tan—an artist on the autism spectrum—is recognized internationally for his expressive, color-driven works that reflect his personal experiences and worldview.
“Inclusivity has always been at the heart of what we do at Conrad Manila,” said Rupert Hallam, the hotel’s general manager. “We are honored to showcase the world-class artistry of J.A. Tan and provide a platform for stories that celebrate diversity and the shared human experience.”
In the exhibition, Tan traces moments and places from Vancouver, the Philippines, Europe, and the United States, using color and abstraction to reinterpret spaces that have shaped him. “Each piece captures a moment, place, or feeling that has stayed with me. These works bring together fragments of memory, allowing me to share my personal narrative,” Tan said.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Elizabeth Sy, President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation; Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SMHCC; Mona Magno-Veluz, National Spokesperson of the Autism Society Philippines; Maribel Calma, Guest of Honor; Rupert Hallam; and J.A. Tan.
As part of the opening, a limited-edition canvas reprint of Tan’s “Rice Fields”, art-inspired merchandise, and a collaboration bottle of Montecorneo 570 Albe 2021 Grechetto Passito dessert wine were auctioned. All proceeds went to the Autism Society of the Philippines.
All artworks in the exhibition are available for acquisition. For inquiries, contact +632 8833 9999 or Conrad.Manila.info@conradhotels.com.
