Sean Go, a Filipino visual artist born in 1993, is redefining the boundaries of art through his bold and playful approach to pop appropriation. By remixing iconic characters into witty, thought-provoking parodies, Go transforms familiar imagery into powerful, whimsical expressions that challenge the status quo.
Unconstrained by traditional techniques, Go invites viewers to embrace a more fluid and imaginative definition of art — one that fosters creative freedom and encourages a deeper exploration of the unexpected. His work serves as a reminder that art is not confined to rules, but is instead a vibrant, ever-evolving reflection of personal vision and cultural dialogue. As he puts it, “My work isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about challenging the status quo, provoking thought, and making people question the world around them.”
When asked about the values that hold the greatest significance for him, Sean Go emphasizes the importance of gratitude. “Appreciating the good in my life, both big and small, is essential for my well-being,” he shares. For Go, gratitude cultivates a sense of contentment, joy, and perspective. It helps him celebrate his achievements, embrace challenges, and maintain a positive outlook on life.
To recharge mentally and emotionally, Sean Go finds that music is his ultimate mood booster. “Music has a profound impact on my mood and emotions,” he explains.
Beyond the therapeutic power of music, Go enjoys pushing himself physically with a variety of intense activities, including reverse clapping push-ups, boxing, and plyometric exercises. These workouts aren’t just about staying fit — they are his way of resetting and pushing his limits.

In addition to these, Sean finds joy in food as a form of recharge. He has a deep appreciation for Jamon Iberico, a culinary passion that began when his father introduced him to the rich flavors of the Spanish delicacy during a trip to Barcelona.
Whether it’s the rhythm of a song, the adrenaline of a workout, or the indulgence in fine food, Sean has crafted his own unique way to nourish both body and soul.
Reflecting on his personal growth, Sean Go acknowledges that he has learned to embrace vulnerability, marking a significant shift from his earlier pursuit of perfection. “Years ago, I strived for perfection in every aspect of my life. Today, I embrace vulnerability and imperfection, both in my art and in myself.” This newfound freedom has allowed Go to create work that is more authentic, relatable, and true to his evolving self.
Sean Go’s journey is a reminder that creativity knows no bounds, and true growth comes from the courage to explore, question, and evolve.
By challenging the status quo and embracing imperfections, he has created a space where art can be both playful and profound, deeply personal yet universally resonant.
His work encourages us to step outside our comfort zones, challenge our perceptions, and discover beauty in the unexpected.
In a world that often demands certainty, Go teaches us the strength in vulnerability, the joy in curiosity, and the freedom in simply being.
