You might be the leading actress of Antoinette Jadaone’s next film

February 26, 2019 – Vinz Lamorena

The way the rom-com director tries to redefine the film genre always takes us by surprise. She has made it her signature style to lace her cinematic creations with unwarranted doses of hard-hitting reality—and often, these realizations root themselves in one’s notion of self and worth.

This time around, Antoinette Jadaone (“That Thing Called Tadhanda,” “Never Not Love You” “Alone/Together”) is looking for a “fan girl” who hasn’t starred in any major acting stints. Which means Jadaone’s next film in the works won’t be banking on the popularity of our local (and crazy) love-team culture. It could be an avenue to discover the next great star of the generation, but one thing we’re sure to expect is the authenticity of characters and magnetic intrigue that would usher us once again to the cinemas.

If you think you have what it takes to be part of Jadaone’s film, then heed Black Sheep’s latest casting call. They are looking for a “girl, not yet a woman” who is 18 to 22 years old. She is described as “shy but passionate,” “innocent but curious,” and “simple but may dating.”

“Fan Girl” is also the only Filipino-selected project for the 2018 Asian Project Market of the Busan International Film Festival. It’s a story Jadaone wrote herself.

The director briefly summarizes the production’s story as: “An obsessed teenage fan finds herself inside a mansion with her celebrity idol she thought she knew and learns exactly why they say never meet your heroes.”
