Class cancellations from here and there, flood reports and umbrellas opened everywhere means one thing—the rainy days are here! Some people are quite happy about the rainy days (ehem students), but there are various things that it brings us that sometimes drives us frantic.
Rainy days are known to be the “sickness-causing” weather because this is the time where flashfloods and flu outbreaks often occurs. However, it is more challenging nowadays because the effects of climate change are more apparent, causing the weather to be quite unpredictable. Wherein, this unpredictability can greatly affect our daily lives and of course—our health.
That is why Watsons launched their newest campaign this year, “Protect Yourself.” Through this campaign, Watsons aims to educate and help shoppers choose products that are suited or appropriate for the weather and keep them informed about the risk factors out there so they can protect themselves all throughout.
Speaking of protecting one’s self, we asked the well-loved leading man Alden Richards about his experience while shooting his latest blockbuster film with Kathryn Bernardo, “Hello, Love, Goodbye” and how he kept himself protected despite his busy schedule.
Alden said that he takes his vitamins every day and goes to the doctor on a regular basis. He also mentioned that he always keeps a packet of Neozep with him and gives some to his family, just to be safe. “You have to take care of your family, but you have to take care of yourself (too), because you have to provide. How can you work if you are not okay? If you are sick?” Alden added.
When asked about his upcoming plans after his hit film, Alden said that he has an upcoming film cooking up with Black Sheep Productions and Star Cinema.
Aside from Alden, we also got to talk to the Ang Probinsyano leading lady, Yassi Pressman and Matteo Guidicelli, who is now a Philippine Army 2nd Lieutenant!
Yassi and Matteo are known to have an active lifestyle despite their own busy schedules, that is why we asked them about how they keep themselves fresh even at this impulsive weather. Yassi mentioned that it is not quite easy. She makes it a point to shower after a nice workout. She also stressed out that it is very important to use a trusty deodorant. In her case, the Nivea deodorant works.
Matteo, on the other hand, when asked about how he was able to maintain his skincare routine while training, frankly said, “pag training wala na, but after the 30 days, the first thing I did was wash my face with Nivea men soap.” Speaking of skincare, the two were also asked about what is there opinion about guys saying that skincare is just for vain people.
Yassi said that it is better to take care of your physical appearance because if you see yourself looking good, you will also feel good inside and you will be more confident. Matteo, through the perspective of a guy, jokingly answered that they only say that for now, but when the time comes where they have to court a girl, they will always make sure that they look good in front of the girl.
The two really emphasized that hygiene is definitely important. One should choose a good soap and a good deodorant – especially for guys because they are more prone to sweaty underarms and unpleasant odor.
Proper hygiene and protection against flu are just some of the things that Watsons “Protect Yourself” Campaign aims to educate about. Start to protect yourself now, just like Alden, Yassi, and Matteo by knowing what is better for you so you will not only look good, but you will also feel good.
