Finally, Irish rock band U2 is making their way to Manila. It’s hard to imagine the last few decades without hearing “With or Without You,” “Sweetest Thing,” or “All I want is You,” live in Philippine arenas. Come Dec. 11, that’s bound to change.

The band first made the announcement on Twitter. The concert will be held at the Philippine Arena and ticket selling begins on Sept. 5 on all SM Ticket branches. To get first dibs on tickets, make sure you subscribe to their official website, u2.com, to get access to the special pre-sale on Sept. 1 to 3. Users are only limited to buy four tickets each while Smart subscribers have a pre-sale event on Sept. 4.

“Manila is a first,” Bono said in a post on the U2 website. “And that has everyone on their toes…. this has to be one of the great ones!”

“We really wanted to bring The Joshua Tree Tour to Asia,” added Edge. “We’d always hoped that it would include a show in the Philippines and now we can finally say that we will see you in December... We are very excited,” the lead guitarist said.

Events promoter MMI Live announced that tickets are priced from PHP2,499 to PHP20,499 for the Philippine Arena show. The Joshua Tree Tour will also make its stops in Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo, New Zealand, and Australia.
