While vacationing in Abu Dhabi and the Maldives, Floyd Mayweather Jr. mentioned he wanted a facial. His Filipina assistant, Kitchie Laurico, suggested they fly to Manila and pay a visit to Dr. Vicki Belo’s clinic.
But the retired boxing champ didn’t just have a skincare session with one of the most celebrated celebrity dermatologists in the country, he was suddenly signed as the newest endorser of the Belo Medical Group.
In fact, just before he was introduced to the press as a “Belo baby,” Mayweather underwent a Thermage procedure, administered by the group’s founder herself.
The latest in skin-tightening technology, Dr. Belo revealed that the machine used arrived just a few days prior. It’s meant to make your skin produce more collagen, covering up pores and minimizing wrinkles.
“I know this guy is very busy and he didn’t have a lot of time. Thermage is very quick and its results can be seen right away. It [the procedure] only took 20 minutes,” Dr. Belo shared at the press conference held at New World Makati yesterday. “Actually, his skin is really good. It’s strong.”
She said Mayweather’s skin didn’t have that much imperfections to work on, despite getting bruises in his previous boxing matches. “Well, he never really gets hit. He knows how to parry blows. His skin responded quickly because it was already healthy to begin with,” Dr. Belo said.
“Today was something different. I got shocked a couple of times [during the Thermage FLX procedure], but I’d do it again,” Mayweather said of the “almost painless” facial.
Now here’s to making Mayweather look 25 again.
