Regatta knows how to throw a sunset party

April 06, 2019 – Diane Gundaya

From the scorching heat of the sun to the proliferation of beach photos online, you can really say that summer is finally here. We bet everyone’s looking forward for this season where they can flaunt their newly bought outfits perfect for the hot weather.

Speaking of hot weather, Regatta kicked off this summer season with a sunset party at The Island in BGC to introduce their full Summer 2019 Collection. It consists of watercolor prints, doodle striped and floral sundresses, breezy pastel tops, and even swimsuits that varies from textured seersucker-type stripe to a red ribbed one!

Here were so many fun activities at the event and here is just a rundown of what happened at the not-so-typical sunset party of the year:

YOU GET CUSTOMIZED SHIRTS!

Upon entering the venue, you will be led to a touchscreen device where you can personally customize your own Regatta shirt. Icons of your own choice or even your initials can be embroidered on the sleeves! Who doesn’t love (free) customized stuff?

WATERCOLOR PORTRAITS

Watercolor paintings are really impressive, but you know what’s more impressive? On-the-spot watercolor portraits. Kar Victoriano, Megan Dino and Stephanie Alvarez are the three amazing artists who made watercolor sketches of the guests wearing different looks from Regatta’s full Summer 2019 Collection. Talk about your personal stylist and artist at the same time!

CALLIGRAPHY 101

Remember those satisfying videos of brush pens gliding smoothly onto the paper, making words look both fancy and chic? Regatta invited Calligraphy pros to school you in the art of creative handwriting. Those who weren’t confident enough in their artistic skills opted to watch the calligraphers do what they do best, with the hope guests will be able to learn a thing or two.

FREE ICE CREAM!!!

What’s a summer party without ice cream? The Lost Bread also served some smoking Blue Vanilla and Melon soft served ice cream at Regatta’s sunset party. It looked totally extra and even tasted extra! What a way to beat the summer heat with style (and additional Instagram content).

CLICK, CLICK, CLICK EVERYWHERE!

A party wouldn’t be completed without photos!

Also, who wouldn’t want to take photos in a place where there are so many Instagram-worthy setups and designs perfect for that Summer Instagram grid that you’ve been working on lately?

Regatta transformed The Island into a cool summer getaway (even if it’s only Thursday night)! There were several booths set up where you can take amazing photos and also, there are professionals who can even take photos of you! Speaking of professionals who can take your photos, Regatta invited two uh-mazing photographers, and when I say, uh-mazing, it is with extra excitement and emphasis!

The two had setups of their own; Shaira Luna took people’s photos in her chill, relaxing porch-like setup in summer while Miguel Alomajan got the people to strike editorial poses with his neon setup. Talk about experiencing how to be model and be photographed by these two pros who are both thriving in the field of photography.

Aside from Shaira and Miguel’s stations, another booth was set up dedicated for anyone who wants a physical copy of their photos. Holo Foto is not your typical printed photo because this one has a holographic effect and you can even stick it on your refrigerator because it has a magnet!

FREE-FLOWING MUSIC AND DRINKS!

Music was definitely the life of the party! Earl of Manila and Rammy Bitong made sure awesome music played from the afternoon until nighttime. Earl of Manila performed some of his original songs which are great bops deserving of more attention. His voice is definitely charismatic. He has that kind of magnetic energy that will make you sit on the benches and just watch him as he performs his songs.

On the other hand, Rammy Bitong served some real party tunes. After those amazing songs from Earl of Manila and a few glasses of mojito and margarita, you’d be forced to stand up and just move your body to beat of the awesome tracks that Rammy was spinning.

It was indeed a celebration of art and style welcoming this year’s summer season with a bang. Summer is definitely in full swing with Regatta.
