Passionate student filmmakers contend to redefine film

July 08, 2019 – alike Editorial Team

Indie Un-film Festival (IUF) is an annual digital film competition that is spearheaded by the DLSU Green Media Group, a premiere university-based media and production organization. This event is a platform for student filmmakers to showcase their work to the public and for the audience to heighten their appreciation for the craft of filmmaking.

Now on its 16th year, IUF continues to give aspiring filmmakers across the country an opportunity to reimagine their creativity and pursue their passion for the craft. This year’s theme: “Redefine Film,” challenges film enthusiasts to abandon the typical and go beyond the quintessential, capturing the world the way they see it. Discover wonders through different lenses and let's celebrate the art and construct of film with Indie Un-film Festival, happening from from July 25 to 27, 2019 at the Natividad Fajardo Rosario Gonzales Auditorium.

IUF’s categories, which includes Feature, Experimental, Documentary, and Music Video, provide a platform for every style of film to shine. The art of filmmaking knows no age—which is why this year, IUF is opening the competition to Senior High School students across the country, adding more frames to build a new and vivid kaleidoscope of the world.

One hundred entries have been submitted from Dumaguete, Bataan, Camarines Sur, Cebu, Baguio, Bulacan, Batangas, Laguna, Iloilo, and Las Piñas, each one daring to open minds and reveal truths. The panel of judges include the likes of Paul Soriano, Petersen Vargas, and Kristoffer Brugada, who have given a new meaning to indie films themselves.

For tickets, please contact Megan Marie Medina at 0920 972 3678 or order through this link. Ticket prices are as follows: P200 per screening or P560 for a festival pass. The festival will culminate with the Awards Night, where the winners for this year’s film festival will be recognized. The Awards Night is also open to all IUF ticket holders.
