Keeping up with the Korean celebrity fan meetings of 2019

March 04, 2019 – Kristin Esber

There’s a lot of things we’re willing to do for our favorite Korean celebrities. As they make us laugh and fall in love with the stories they bring to life, we don’t mind losing sleep watching their shows, spending on streaming sites and merchandise, and sparing precious time keeping updated with their social media shenanigans. It’s almost everyone’s dream to have a run-in and memorable moment with their favorite celebs, and we’re sure Filipino fans are no different. While not everyone can afford to fly to a different country to hunt down their favorite idols, there’s a silver lining: Korea’s brightest stars are due for some Manila fanmeets.

The likes of Ji Soo, Jung Hae In, Lee Min Ho, Yook Sung Jae, Nam Joo Hyuk and Park Hyung Sik have all made their way to Manila—showcasing their hidden talents and making themselves vulnerable to embarrassment, all to entertain and thank their fans.

We hope fans (and their bank accounts) are ready for this: In the next three months, four Korean stars will make their way to the country to be greeted by the warmth (and screams) of the Manila crowd. Are you ready to meet these oppas?

Park Ji Hoon

We’re only two weeks away from meeting Park Ji Hoon in the flesh. This former child actor became a member of idol group Wanna One and earned the titles “wink boy”and “aegyo trendsetter.” We’re sure he’ll be schooling his fans on the funniest poses of aegyo (cute display of affection). Plus, what’s a Korean idol fanmeet without a good performance to remember? Tickets are still available for fans who want to see him in person.

So Ji Sub

For the first time, So Ji Sub will be having a Manila fanmeet this Mar. 16. The lead actor of K-dramas “Master’s Sun,” “Oh My Venus” and the award-winning “Terrius Behind Me” will be singing his version of hit idol songs and is said to have a special fanmeet segment wherein he’ll be sharing hearty pieces of advice regarding some personal concerns of the audience. A limited number of tickets are still available for purchasing.

Park Bo Gum

Fans have long been waiting to see his singing and dancing skills live since he was seen moving along to Jessy Matador’s “Bombastic” during his “Love in the Moonlight” shooting days. We’ll be seeing the actor fresh from the success of his latest drama “Encounter,” and we’re sure his stans will have loads of questions about the show and his co-actress, So Hye-go. Bo Gum will be capping his “Good Day” Asia tour in Manila, and we know his Filipino fans would want to end it with a bang!

Seo Kang Jun

Seo Kang Jun has that classic face for TV drama. One look at him would make you go, “are you human?” His fanmeet is called “The Last Charm,” an obvious nod to his most recent project with actress Esom, “Third Charm.” We bet he’ll have his nerdy persona on board when he comes to Manila. We also can’t wait to see his indescribably nice eyes and captivating smile in person come May 25. Make sure you set your alarms and mark your calendars, tickets will go on sale on Mar. 23, Saturday!
