The Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo star is finally coming to Manila for her first fan meeting entitled “Be Joyful” this July 27 at the SM Sky Dome.
Lee Sung-kyoung started as out as model where she first got to appear in Korean rapper Simon D’s music video of his track “Stay Cool.” She then got her first acting role in the K-drama “It’s Okay, It’s Love” where she plays a troubled teenager and had Running Man’s Lee Kwang Soo as her love interest. This was followed by her acting in dramas such as “Flower Queen,” “Cheese in the Trap,” and “Doctors,” where she played all kinds of characters. Most of them were admittedly a bit neurotic!
But what placed her on the map was when she got the lead role in the drama “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” where she played an awarded weightlifter who had crush on a weight loss doctor. The romantic comedy drama not only showed Sung-kyoung’s versatility as an actress but also her comedic talent.
This fame lead to her being the voice of Poppy in the Korean dubbed version of the movie “Trolls” and acting in the film “Love+Sling” and the recent drama “About Time” where she played an aspiring musical actress who can see a person’s life span. Her latest work is the movie “Girl Cops” where she plays a rookie policewoman alongside actress Ra Mi Ran.
After doing her fan meeting in Taiwan earlier this year, it’s now Manila’s turn to “be joyful” in meeting Sung-kyoung in person. Through this fan meeting, Sung-kyoung is out to show that she isn’t only a good actress and model but also an amazing singer and dancer. No longer just singing in her car, Sung-kyoung is happy to share her beautiful voice to her fans and at the same time dress like her iconic character Bok Joo once again as she sings. The fans will surely also be excited to watch Sung-kyoung as she dances with swag to songs “Ddu ddu Ddu Du” and Solo" from the K-pop group Blackpink.
Everyone will get a hi-touch with the actress, while MVP ticket holders will have a group photo with Sung-kyoung. Everyone including those who have VIP and Fairy passes will have a chance at getting signed posters and an invite to the press conference. That's the full fan experience we're talking about!
Get your wallets ready! Tickets to her “Be Joyful” fan meeting will go on sale this May 31, Friday.
