If there’s one skincare cult favorite your radar has to quickly pick up ASAP, it’s got to be Japanese brand Hada Labo. Beauty enthusiasts from all over swear by its deep-moisturizing formulations and hypoallergenic products.
The skincare brand is now available in Watsons for Filipinos to try out. However, the prices are a bit steeper here compared to Tokyo drugstores—but, then again, local market accessibility has its own costs. Filipina TV host and digital influencer Kelly Misa revealed the 170-ml bottle of their toner can last you about four months, so that makes it a pretty good buy.
The technology behind Hada Labo’s bestselling Hydrating Lotion (currently at an introductory price of P685), to say the least, is beyond amazing. It’s essentially a moisturizing toner used after cleansing and with its unbelievably light texture, its made to be part of both your day and night skincare routines. Most of the brand’s products have hyaluronic acid as its main component, developing a finish that still feels a lot like your natural skin—only smoother and softer.
“Hada Labo is an answered prayer,” Kelly told alike. “I’m a mom and I was coming from a 6-step routine, and I used to be so rigid about it since I was a beauty editor. I was so into beauty products and, of course, since I was advising my readers to do these steps, it was essential.”
“When I became a mom, everything was simplified. I don’t really have the time for the 10-step skincare some people do. I just cleanse and moisturize. It’s so humid and I don’t want the feeling of having thick layers of product on my skin,” the 37-year-old mom shared.
Kelly added that Hada Labo’s skincare line, particularly its Hydrating Lotion, offers a no-fuss moisturizing routine that will make you skip adding more hydration products in your skincare rotation. After all, the brand has developed a way for moisture to be absorbed four layers deeper into your skin, giving it a more supple glow and minimizing lines caused by dryness.
“Using Hada Labo is always a great experience. I actually tried it because I have a lot of friends who would hoard it during their trips to Japan. It’s a cult favorite in the beauty industry and among circles of friends. I noticed deep hydration in my skin that I’ve never seen before both in the Fall climate of Japan and humid weather here in Manila,” she said.
“It comes off as very light, and feels like your skin! It creates that moisturized feel without being oily, or developing that tacky, greasy texture. When you’re tired and you don’t want to deal with a lot of things on your face before you go to bed, the Hydrating Lotion keeps things simple,” Kelly added.
When asked what other Hada Labo products this model wants in the market, she said their anti-aging line would be something she’ll look forward to. “Everyone wants that radiant glow and our skin to look more beautiful, whatever age you’re in,” she said.
Five other Hada Labo products are carried by Watsons, including the Hydrating Face Wash (P385), Hydrating Light Cream (P850), Hydrating Water Gel (P850), Hydrating and Whitening Face Wash (P295), Deep Clean and Pore Refinish Face Wash (P295) and the Hydrating Line Trial Set (P465).
