From celebrities to retail giants, everybody seems to be creating their own makeup lines. The local beauty industry continues to thrive thanks to the influx of homegrown and international brands in the market. The big news is: Penshoppe is making itself a part of that demographic.
But more than just riding this beauty wave, Penshoppe sees the launch of its Beauty Pop line as an expansion of its lifestyle brand. “We stand as the youth’s guide to everyday fashion. We felt that fashion and beauty goes hand in hand in the lifestyle of the youth,” Jeff Bascon said.
The brand is daring and ambitious. It has an 18-piece shade range set as its debut collection. Not only that, they’re introducing it with two different matte formulas—the Lightmatte and Hydramatte. The Lightmatte has a powder-like finish while the Hydramatte has a creamier velvet feel. Either way, you’re bound to find the kind of matte works well on your lips and according to your preference in this beauty line.
It took Penshoppe two years to develop their Beauty Pop line. After going through various formulations from different countries, they decided to come out with a Japan-made debut lipstick collection. “The standards are high. You can only launch a beauty product once, so might as well do it right the first time,” the Penshoppe vice president for brand management shared.
Penshoppe selected a diverse set of colors including nudes, pinks, mauves, wines, reds and corals formulated to complement every skin tone. They wanted their products to be accessible to everyone, which explains why Beauty Pop offers their mattes at an insanely affordable price of P219 each, as compared to the matte lippies we’ve grown familiar with through the years.
Its matte pastel ombre packaging is also playful and quite unique, and the lipsticks even carry a scrumptious milk chocolate scent. You can grab one (or all) from select Penshoppe boutiques starting today, June 27, or fill up an online cart and purchase from their website.
International models Romee Strijd and Lais Ribeiro were both chosen to headline Beauty Pop for their quirky personalities and effortlessly chic style. The ambassadors of the country’s newest beauty line agreed that their top three lipstick shades are Wild Child (an electric coral), Prim & Proper (a warm rosy nude), and Legally Nude (a pinkish brown nude).
The two models always go for the natural makeup look and said it’s important to have a lipstick that you can not only use for your lips, but give your cheeks and eyes some color, too. “This collection has colors that can pop out but can still feel and look natural,” Lais told alike.
“It’s an inclusive line. Romee and Lais are a good representation of what we strive Beauty Pop to become. They’re really cool people and they’re good at what they do, and I guess that’s what Penshoppe stands for too,” Bascon shared.
“Everybody is already beautiful. But we want to emphasize each one’s individual beauty and we want our products to be a tool to make their beauty pop,” he added.
