Whether you’re a sweet tooth or not, we all crave sugar every now and then. As the famous saying goes: “dessert is just stressed” spelled backwards. When we feel tired, a little upset, and stressed out, we opt to reach out for sweets to comfort our soul. There’s something about a warm chocolate cake or some fresh baked cookies with love that feels like a tight hug.
Not to mention, desserts are literally the sweetest gift to give on special occasions. We know that looking for gifts can be a little stressful so we did some research for you! In this article, we’ve gathered some of the must-try dessert places in the Metro to save you from the hassle of researching.
Ijo Bakery Croissants
Have a taste of delicious Japanese baked goods in Ijo Bakery. Just one step in their bakery in Lipa, Batangas and you’ll be able to smell delicious croissants and coffee. Their best sellers include mini croissants - chocolate and maple syrup! You don’t need to drive all the way to Batangas (although you should totally try if you get a chance to!) because they’re accepting orders online.
Hey People for Pie
Reanne Young, a simple mother of three and pie enthusiast, is letting us in on her passion project. This pie lover does not know anything about baking. In fact, she hasn’t practiced making cookies or brownies. She’s an engineer and web developer who simply loves eating pies so she started to create her own… Her delicious pies are almost always booked and sold out so if I were you, I’d book a slot now!
Mad Batter Co
A great place to unwind and have some tea and tasty desserts. They offer fresh coffee, tea, freshly baked cupcakes, cheesecakes, scones, etc. If you get a chance to, try their banana bread! It’s one of the best banana breads out there that’s moist and perfectly
Costa Brava is old fashioned in the best way. They aren’t trending because they look good on the gram. They’re a crowd favourite simply because they have one of the best caramel cakes of all times. With its perfect chiffon base + light creamy caramel icing with just the right amount of sweetness, this treat is best paired with a hot cup of coffee.
If you want to try them, contact 8896-1267, 8896-6272, 8403-6627, 8984-3949, or 0917-701-1370 and send in your orders. They don’t do deliveries so book through the courier of your choice.
These cookies are sure to make you go loko. I don’t know how you like your cookies, but the perfect (in my opinion) cookie would be something that’s crunchy on the outside with soft dewy rich chocolatey middle. It’s topped with some sea salt flakes which makes the cookie just a burst of tasty flavors.
Cakes by Miriam Merry Berry
If you’re looking for a cake that tastes as good as it looks, you’re never wrong with Cakes by Miriam. Cakes by Miriam is a crowd pleaser because of its light and moist flavors.
Two of their best cakes are “Merry Berry” and Tres Leches.
If you’re a fan of sponge cakes, this one’s a must try. Fluffy and light as it comes, this sponge cake is also covered with buttery vanilla icing, and topped with fresh berries that give off a slightly sour but delightful flavor, balancing each other out to perfection. If I were you, I’d pair this cake with a glass of Chardonnay. Thank me later.
Another showstopper from Cakes by Miriam is their Tres Leches. Soaked in three kinds of milk, covered in slightly sweetened cream cheese, sliced fruits, frosted with whipped cream, this cake is pure decadent.
Kevin Ong Patisserie
Kevin Ong’s famous handcrafted bonbons is a unique experience to eat. Almost too pretty to consume, the bonbons offer more than just a typical dessert snack. With sixteen unique flavors, you taste something new each time. It’s the perfect gift to give a loved one or even a dessert to accompany through your date nights at home. Their glazed cakes are also a unique experience to enjoy!
If you’re a fan of Sex and the City then you’d know why M-Bakery is a special spot. M-Bakery, located in One Bonifacio High Street Mall, offers some of the best desserts to pair with a hot cup of coffee. Try their banana pudding, Tres Leches, or grab a cupcake when you get the chance to!
That wraps up our sweet finds. What are your favorites? Let us know.
